On June 12th, 2021 Taproot, a significant update to the Bitcoin protocol that will lower the costs of verifying and using the network, expand the functionality, & increase privacy has crossed the signaling threshold & locked in to activate fully in November. This is the first major soft fork upgrade since SegWit in 2017. The slow and steady progress of the Bitcoin system is proving it to be the most robust & trusted system for digital value as it secures the sovereignty & well being of millions (and soon billions) around the world. Thanks to all the developers for their incredible work and diligence in getting this upgrade securely implemented among the huge ecosystem of disparate, decentralized users and services. Kudos.
