This episode is a wide ranging market and geopolitical check in as Bitcoin undergoes a sharp drawdown while gold and silver surge. Matthew opens by comparing long term performance across assets, walking through indexed returns for gold, silver, and Bitcoin starting from multiple timeframes. While precious metals are clearly outperforming in the short and medium term, he emphasizes that zooming out reveals a very different story. Even after a steep pullback, Bitcoin’s long term gains still dwarf those of gold and silver when measured over a decade or more. He then turns to drawdowns. Bitcoin has fallen roughly 40 percent in three months, a fast move but not unprecedented. Matthew compares this decline to prior cycles in 2017, 2018, and 2022, showing that faster drops often resolve sooner. On the power curve, Bitcoin currently sits between the 30th and 40th percentile. Statistically, that means price has been higher about 70 percent of the time. It may go lower, but it is already in a historically cheap zone. A core segment revisits power law versus exponential models. Matthew explains why Bitcoin does not behave like gold or silver, which follow exponential trends that overshoot and mean revert. Bitcoin remains best described by a power curve, with projections that have stayed remarkably stable even when built using limited historical data.
