He walks through silver’s price history going back more than five decades, explaining that silver has only reached this level three times in 55 years, most notably in 1980 and 2011. In each case, prices ultimately reverted sharply toward trend. Using long term charts, Matthew shows that silver’s trend growth is extremely low, roughly 0.6 percent per year, with a modest R squared near 54 percent. While silver could still rise further in the short term, he stresses that prices near five times trend have never been sustained historically.
