Drawing from earlier work like Fawkescoin, Lifeboat enables secure spending without requiring a full post-quantum signature scheme, using a three-hash commitment model (AID, SDP, CTXID) and minimal changes to Bitcoin’s consensus rules. Dryja walks through the threat model, commitment validation process, node storage implications, and attack scenarios. He also discusses deployment challenges, long-term relevance, and how Lifeboat complements future PQ migration strategies.
