What happens after a quantum attacker emerges? In this technical talk from Presidio Bitcoin's Quantum Bitcoin Summit, researcher Shai Wyborski presents a novel protocol for migrating pre-quantum Bitcoin UTXOs even after the cryptographic break has occurred. Drawing from his research in quantum cryptography, Wyborski explores cryptographic tools that don’t rely on digital signatures. His proposal, built on zero-knowledge proofs, commitment schemes, and modifications to the 2014 “FawkesCoin” construction, offers a modular migration framework. It’s capable of securing “hash,” “derived,” and even some “naked” UTXOs with no trust assumptions or immediate quantum signature deployment.
